BLACKPINK’s Jennie will release her new solo single “Less than a Lover” on July 24, 2026, at 1 p.m. KST across domestic and global streaming platforms. Her agency, OA Entertainment (Odd Atelier), announced the date on July 21, unveiling a teaser image of Jennie with a man seen through a truck window against a natural landscape.
The track marks a shift from her earlier high-energy hits such as “Mantra” and “Like Jennie.” Built on a lo-fi sound with acoustic guitar, vintage electric keyboard textures, and restrained vocals, it leans softer and more introspective, aiming to show a different side of the artist. Jennie was closely involved across the project, taking part in the songwriting, production, and directing the music video.
Jennie first previewed the song at the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York in June, later performing it at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival, Poland’s Open’er Festival, and Spain’s Mad Cool Festival, with festival clips fueling online anticipation. She debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016 and founded her own label, OA Entertainment, in 2023; her solo catalog includes “Solo” (2018), “Mantra” (2024), and “Like Jennie” (2025). She is set to continue her festival run at Lollapalooza Chicago and Summer Sonic 2026 in Japan.
